Theory of Change

Problem Statement

Across the world, millions of people are shut out of critical conversations—not because they’re not paying attention, but because they don’t speak the "right" language. Whether the issue is climate change, public health, education, or human rights, essential information is often inaccessible to the very communities most impacted.

The Global Language Gap

Most global discussions—at the UN, in academic reports, or in major media—take place in a few dominant languages like English or French. Meanwhile, the majority of the world speaks something else. This linguistic divide reinforces inequality and keeps solutions out of reach for many. Without language access, there is no true participation or justice.

Why Youth

Young people are at the frontlines of change. But too often, they lack access to multilingual tools, networks, and resources that allow them to fully engage with global issues. At Global Ascent, we create pathways for youth to lead — not just in activism, but in translation, outreach, and education. We invest in the next generation of global connectors.
